Overview

Citalopram hydrobromide is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) , with blood-brain barrier permeability. Citalopram hydrobromide inhibits 5-HT uptake into synaptosomes with an IC 50 of 1.8 nM. Citalopram hydrobromideinhibits the 5-HT uptake in rabbit blood platelets with an IC 50 of 14 nM. Antidepressant effect.
