Perezone

Overview

Perezone is a sesquiterpenoid benzoquinone found in the roots of Acourtia species. Perezone inhibits the activity of leukemia cell line K-562 and human glioma cell line U-251 ( IC 50 : 6.83 μM). Perezone increases the expression of caspase 3 , 8, and 9 genes associated with apoptosis . Perezone has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.
