(+)-Catechin pentaacetate is a precursor for the production of (+) catechin (HY-N0898 ). (+) catechin is a useful natural herbicide and antimicrobial. (+)-Catechin inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 ( COX-1 ) with an IC 50 of 1.4 μM.
